In the beginning of my journey, I spot a fox trotting away Into a darkened forest. It pauses to stare back at me a while Before casting itself into the darkening forest. Then I think of you.
Further on, I see a lioness Who follows me awhile, nipping at my heels. Her pelt as red as the Queen’s roses. She too eventually follows the silent fox into the wood. Then I think of you.
Towards the end of my path, I sight a horse. Its legs stand high and proud, And it constantly whinnies into my ear as I pass, But leads itself into the Darkness. Then I think of you.
At the end of my journey, I see an abandoned puppy. Loving, innocent, and kind Yearning for my love and presence. The benevolent canine continues on with me till the end of my life’s journey So that I may remember you.
In the beginning of my journey, I spot a fox trotting away

Before casting itself into the darkening forest.

Who follows me awhile, nipping at my heels.
Her pelt as red as the Queen’s roses.
She too eventually follows the silent fox into the wood.
